CommonSpirit Health Job Summary The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for executing daily duties to establish and maintain a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing care environment. The EVS Tech will interact with patients, visitors, and clinical and non-clinical staff while ensuring timely room turnovers related to patient throughput and adherence to environmental hygiene and infection prevention standards. The EVS technician contributes to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention, and patient experience according to organizational standards of quality. You will keep all hospital areas clean and sanitized to protect individuals from infectious diseases or other hazards. You will perform routine cleaning tasks and may use specialized equipment and techniques to further sanitize the facility. You will learn and adhere to proper disposal techniques for biohazard materials, safely use disinfecting chemicals, and learn procedures for cleaning specialized rooms or equipment. You may also refill dispensers, restock supplies, and deliver clean linens to patient rooms. A friendly, thorough, and safety-focused approach is essential to the role. Pay Range $19.53 - $26.48 /hour Where You’ll Work Virginia Mason Franciscan Health has a long history of providing exceptional care and operates across the Puget Sound region with a network of hospitals and care sites. Responsibilities Provide routine cleaning and decluttering in appropriate areas of the hospital (dusting, sweeping, mopping, trash disposal). Sanitize areas using approved tools and routines; procedures vary by location (patient rooms, ER, ORs, hallways, stations, restrooms). Restock supplies in supply areas, common areas, and patient rooms (soap, towels, tissues, linens, cleaning supplies). Learn and follow proper disposal of medical waste, including biohazard materials. Be courteous and professional in interactions with patients, visitors, and staff. Qualifications HS Diploma/GED preferred. Previous experience in commercial/healthcare cleaning preferred.
