As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will evaluate production processes and make recommendations for improvements. You will analyze production processes, schedules, methods, and data to provide management with reports containing valuable statistics. Your role will ensure the manufacturing processes comply with equipment requirements and limitations. Additionally, you will review and calculate labor, material, and other production costs to assist management in decision-making. Job Description: Manufacturing Engineer
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will evaluate production processes and make recommendations for improvements. You will analyze production processes, schedules, methods, and data to provide management with reports containing valuable statistics. Your role will ensure the manufacturing processes comply with equipment requirements and limitations. Additionally, you will review and calculate labor, material, and other production costs to assist management in decision-making.
Responsibilities
Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement, and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency. Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services following manufacturer's procedures to maintain operational equipment. Eliminate waste in the manufacturing process and apply innovative systems to enhance company workflows. Optimize production programs for labor balance and stocking needs. Provide flexible program offerings across multiple machines. Ensure traceability and repeatability through programs and ERP communications. Troubleshoot program challenges and reduce product inconsistencies. Develop fixtures for program applications and manage fixture assets for efficient selection and use. Problem-solve and communicate effectively with the work team. Contribute ideas for continuous improvement of workflow and processes.
Essential Skills
Experience in metal fabrication, continuous improvement, and manufacturing engineering. Proficiency in process improvement and process engineering, including stainless steel, sheet metal, and weldment. Expertise in lean manufacturing and welding engineering. Experience with welding or robotic welding, creating tooling & fixtures for manual and robotic welding. Experience with MIG/TIG welding, cutting, bending, and polishing. Proficiency in FEA analysis. Involvement with capital projects, including procurement and installation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, industrial engineering, or mechanical engineering. Process/manufacturing experience with sheet metal, weldments, and large assemblies. Experience with ERP systems, VISIO, AutoCAD. Familiarity with trailer/vehicle systems & pressure vessels. Understanding of manufacturing processes, including calculations such as cycle times, takt times, standard work, and VSM.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
