As a Sr. Controls Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, installation, and commissioning of custom automation equipment. You will travel to customer sites for project commissioning and installation, applying your advanced knowledge of electrical theory and principles of operation. You will utilize Rockwell's Studio5000 design software to produce logic and create HMIs using FactoryTalk View and Ignition platforms. You will be responsible for specifying and integrating PLCs, HMIs, servo systems, motors, drives, sensors, and vision sensors, ensuring alignment with customer standards and scope of work. Your expertise will also extend to producing electrical drawings using AutoCAD, developing quotations for automation applications, and performing high-level troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
Travel to customer sites for project commissioning and installation, requiring 10-20% travel. Produce logic for custom automation equipment utilizing Rockwell's Studio5000 design software. Create HMIs for custom automation equipment using FactoryTalk View and Ignition platforms. Specify PLCs, HMIs, servo systems, motors, drives, sensors, and vision sensors with minimal supervision. Occasionally produce electrical drawings through AutoCAD software. Produce quotations for custom industrial automation applications and oversee projects until installation and commissioning. Assess, identify, and modify PLC logic and HMI programs to improve equipment and system performance. Perform high-level troubleshooting and critical thinking to solve electrical, mechanical, or process problems. Assist others in troubleshooting machinery, equipment, components, and programs including PLCs, HMIs, Servos, and Robotic systems. Support electrical crew during machine installation and commissioning projects. Stay updated with new controls technologies, industry trends, and standards affecting current operations. Create and modify schematic drawings using AutoCAD software
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
