This position is responsible for performing professional‑level quality engineering duties involving varied levels of complexity across motion system devices and components (e.g., sensors, actuators, motors, gearheads, electronics). The Senior Quality Engineer applies Quality Assurance principles and technical expertise to support product and process integrity across cross‑functional teams. Responsibilities
Develop and maintain technical documentation (inspection and test instructions, work instructions). Ensure compliance with engineering standards, specifications, customer requirements and regulatory guidelines. Evaluate and resolve quality issues related to parts, assemblies, and systems. Review non-conforming hardware and make decisions as required (including MRB tasks). Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, design engineering, operations, and supply chain to drive quality improvements and resolve issues. Serve as the quality point of contact for customer issues, ensuring timely responses and sustainable corrective actions. Conduct internal audits and support external audits to assure conformance to requirements. Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives and problem‑solving efforts utilizing tools such as 8D, 5‑Why, Fishbone, FMEA, LEAN, Six Sigma, etc. Conduct data‑driven analysis to identify trends and implement process improvements. Assist in the implementation and utilization of automated inspection equipment. Mentor Junior Engineers and Technicians in quality tools and initiatives. Prepare and present quality reports, charts, and presentations using Microsoft Office Suite. Perform additional tasks assigned by management to support quality objectives. Required Competencies
Expertise in root cause analysis and problem solving. Skilled in statistical analysis (e.g. MSA, Pareto, Control Charts, Six Sigma). Strong working knowledge of Aerospace manufacturing and special processes. Proficient in interpreting drawings, specifications, GD&T, and process documentation (FAIRs, control plans, etc.). Highly adaptable to shifting priorities and regulatory/customer demands. Required Experience
Bachelor’s Degree, Engineering degree preferred, or equivalent education and experience. 5 or more years of experience in aerospace, automotive, or medical device manufacturing strongly preferred. AS9100 Quality System knowledge strongly preferred. Must be eligible for U.S. government programs and/or security clearance. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
