Onsite Security Clearance:
DoD Secret (U.S. citizen or U.S. person required; active/transferable clearance required prior to start) This position is with Raytheon and supports Environmental Test (ET) within the Environmental Test Vehicles (ETV) group. The ET organization provides testing capability for all phases of the product life cycle, including mechanical shock, electrodynamic vibration, salt fog, climatic environments, and related data acquisition support. The ETV group designs, builds, and provides field test support for collecting flight test environmental data for air-launched weapon systems. The Test Engineer will lead planning, vehicle design, build, integration verification, and field/flight test support for multiple missile programs, and will provide estimates for new vehicle builds as well as technical, cost, and schedule oversight. The role is onsite in Tucson, AZ. What You Will Do
Develop instrumentation and data acquisition plans for new vehicle builds and older vehicle rebuilds. Design and model instrumentation layout, data acquisition system placement, and harnessing for new vehicle builds using CREO Schematics. Lead program reviews including consent to ship, test readiness reviews, and design reviews. Train team members and support personnel in operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and data acquisition systems on all vehicles. Support flight testing at offsite locations, including international travel. Create schedules and budgets and track team progress to ensure milestones are met. Implement engineering best practices to ensure test vehicle build quality and reliability. Communicate status of ongoing efforts with ET leadership and internal program customers. Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in STEM and a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience. Technical writing experience in test planning, analysis, or reporting. Minimum two (2) years’ experience with instrumentation such as accelerometers, thermocouples, strain gauges, load cells, and data acquisition systems (Dewetron, DeweSoft, LabVIEW, Agilent/Keysight BenchLink, Somat). Minimum one (1) year experience designing electrical circuits and creating electrical schematics. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship required for clearance eligibility. Qualifications We Prefer
Preferred engineering majors: Electrical, Aerospace, or Mechanical. Experience with commercial environmental test equipment (vibration systems, thermal chambers). Experience using CREO Schematics. Experience with vibration control systems and related software. Experience with solid modeling/analysis software. High situational awareness and ability to manage multiple projects.
