Anduril is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer, or Mechanical Engineer to join the team at our Costa Mesa HQ. The role involves early stage R&D development for complex systems, including mechanical structures, batteries, mechanisms, actuators, motors, power systems, PCBAs, sensors, and payloads. The candidate should be practical, hands-on, self-motivated, and capable of owning concepts from feasibility to prototype.
What You’ll Do
Execute rapid evaluation of engineering concepts in a wide range of fields Identify partners in industry, engage with them, and manage early vendor relationships Perform trade studies and physics-based analyses of blue-sky engineering problems Manage internal and external market research and comparisons Design, implement, and test complex electro-mechanical systems Own high-level system work with significant professional autonomy Lead design reviews, run analyses, visit vendors, and define and execute hardware test plans Build and test prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects toward production Support critical hardware demonstrations with customers and internal leaders Travel to test sites, vendors, and demos as needed Apply first principles physics to decision-making Required Qualifications
Experience in an immersive technical project (collegiate project teams or professional settings) Demonstrated leadership, ownership, and autonomy skills 3+ years of mechanical and/or electrical design experience in a professional setting CAD skills and ability to produce high-quality engineering drawings that meet industry standards Experience in PCB design and any ECAD (e.g., Altium, KiCAD) Strong grounding in engineering first principles Strong organizational skills BS, MS or PhD in an engineering field, or equivalent work experience Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance Preferred Qualifications
Experience with NX and Teamcenter PLM Hands-on prototyping (machining, shop tools, welding, soldering, board assembly, harnessing) Experience with electrical testing tools (oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, multimeters) Experience with power systems, battery management, PCBA design, wiring harness design, controls, robotics, or motor/servo drive systems Familiarity with microcontroller design (STMicro, TI, NXP, etc.) from schematic to bring-up Ability to read, interpret, and manipulate schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts Firmware/software experience (e.g., Arduino) Experience developing various electronics hardware products (UAVs, wearables, firearms, high-power systems, optical systems, or other complex mechanisms) Experience with microcontroller wired communication protocols (USB, MIPI CSI2, SPI, I2C, CAN, CANFD, UART/RS232/RS422/RS485) Salary and Benefits
US Salary Range: $129,000 - $171,000 USD The salary range is an estimate and may vary based on experience, education, and other factors. Equity grants are included in many full-time offers.
