The Electrical Project Engineer provides essential support to the project team by accurately tracking field work and design reviews, assisting with procurement tasks, and supporting the Project Manager. With a solid understanding of basic project operations, dependability, willingness to follow directions, and an inquisitive nature, the candidate will deepen understanding and improve performance.
Responsibilities
Implement system renovation projects in collaboration with client staff, engineering consultants, installers, and vendors
Review and comment on designs submitted by the designer (EOR)
Review and comment on product submittals submitted by vendors and suppliers
Review and submit electrical shop drawings for approval
Submit and track submittals via log to and from client for timely approval
Review and address client comments on design and product submittals for approvals
Provide drawing, document, and material-order support to field crews in a timely manner
Keep track of field manhours during the construction phase
Coordinate and track electrical material with designer and vendors during design and construction
Review and evaluate designs for system modifications or installation of new systems
Prepare purchase requisitions for electrical material including conduits, wires, equipment, cabling, or tools
Review and document technical specifications and operating standards for the electrical industry
Estimate costs for system or component implementation and operations
Assist install, remove, or relocate user connectivity equipment and devices with personnel and facilities management
Review and submit system activity and performance reports
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
Experience: 3+ years of electrical construction experience
Basic understanding of construction methodologies
Proficient in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD preferred but can be learned
Clear verbal and written communication
Independent/collaborative team member: able to take direction and work in a team
Time management: prioritizes tasks and completes them on time
Open to performing tasks in both field office and project site locations
