What You’ll Do

Develop and maintain optimized warehouse layouts using AutoCAD, ensuring logical flow, space utilization, and process efficiency.

Develop and establish VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) principles for incorporation into warehouse construction and practices.

Develop and audit slotting plans based on ABC classification and usage data. Maintain accurate PFEP (Plan for Every Part) documentation.

Recommend and implement appropriate storage and handling solutions including pallet racking, storage containers, conveyors, forklifts, wrappers, VLMs, and other automation technologies.

Develop current and future‑state value stream maps (VSMs) to identify improvement opportunities and quantify operational savings.

Collaborate with IT and Enterprise Applications teams to evaluate, select, and implement Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Work with operations teams to implement WMS processes.

Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and guidelines in warehouse construction and operations.

Travel to U.S.‑based warehouse sites for project implementation, audits, and collaboration as needed.

Create work instructions and train frontline staff as required for assigned areas.

What We’re Looking For

Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating factory layouts.

Experience with ERP or WMS systems applicable to inventory management and storage strategies. Microsoft Dynamics preferred.

Strong command of Lean Six Sigma, MODAPTS, DFM/DFA, and time/motion study.

Knowledge of Kanban, JIT, pull systems, and material replenishment strategies.

Understanding of ergonomics, OSHA standards, golden zone definition, and safety risk assessments for warehousing pack/ship operations, equipment travel, and other functional work areas.

Experience supporting NPI launches with PFEP, space planning, etc.

Familiarity with ISTA standards, NFPA‑13 regulations as applicable to warehouse racks, and high pile storage.

Bachelor’s or equivalent experience in industrial engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.

5+ years of industrial engineering experience in automotive, heavy machinery, industrial electronics manufacturing & assembly or 3PL warehouses.

Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Proven experience in at least one full warehouse design project and/or launch support for NPI.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in industrial engineering with 3 years of relevant work experience qualifies for consideration.

Packaging design/sustainable packaging experience is an added plus.

Experience with digital manufacturing, smart factory concepts, and sustainability initiatives.

Knowledge of ISO 14001, ESG reporting, and green manufacturing principles.

Experience in implementing energy‑efficient systems, waste minimization programs, closed‑loop recycling, and sustainable packaging solutions.

Ability to work onsite full time with occasional weekend work needed to support warehouse operations.

Extensive usage of computer/laptop working at a desk and production floor.

May involve occasional working with general‑purpose tools like drills, screw drivers, floor tape, etc.

May require lifting items occasionally, with a maximum weight limit of 50lbs.

Travel Expectations Up to 25%

Pay Range $85,771 - $159,290 per year
