The Electrical Engineer II supports the execution of standard engineering tasks, including material specification, schematic development, and documentation. This role assists with the design, testing, and modification of electrical systems under the direction of senior engineers. Responsibilities include preparing technical documentation, clarifying specifications, and ensuring alignment with performance requirements. The position requires collaboration with internal teams and clear communication of technical details. The Electrical Engineer II is expected to work with increasing independence and seek support when addressing complex or unfamiliar tasks. Responsibilities
You will design, implement, and support electrical systems and products for material handling applications You will develop electrical schematics, panel layouts, cable routing diagrams, and perform basic calculations for power requirements, circuit protection, and load distribution You will specify and select electrical components such as sensors, motors, drives, and safety devices, ensuring compliance with applicable electrical and safety standards (e.g., NFPA, NEC, IEC) You will collaborate with mechanical and controls engineers to integrate electrical designs into complete automation systems, applying knowledge of conveyor, singulation, sortation, and related technologies to support system performance You will participate in system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting during build and installation phases, providing on-site or remote support under the guidance of senior engineers You will prepare and maintain technical documentation, including BOMs, wiring diagrams, system specifications, and organized records of revisions and change documentation throughout the project lifecycle You will coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to manage component sourcing, lead times, and resolve technical inquiries You will travel up to 10% for site condition assessments and progress evaluations Qualifications
You have obtained a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field You have gained 2-5 years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in material handling or automation projects Proficiency in developing electrical schematics and layouts using AutoCAD or similar tools, with experience designing electrical systems based on mechanical data (e.g., equipment layout, motor horsepower, system throughput) Expertise in conveyor motor control panel design and familiarity with applicable electrical standards (e.g., NFPA, NEC, IEC) Experience working with PLCs and industrial network protocols (e.g., Ethernet, Profinet, Profibus), and the ability to collaborate effectively with controls engineers to understand system control requirements Demonstrated experience supporting cross-disciplinary project teams and end users, with participation in system design reviews or project meetings Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet project deadlines You are detail-oriented with strong organizational, documentation, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills in an engineering environment, along with excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities for effective collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders Benefits
