Overview

Purpose of the Position: Oversees daily processing operations demonstrating commitment to employee safety, product quality, and teamwork. Responsibilities

Manages plant staffing. Guides assigned department’s supervisors and their direct reports. Estimates appropriate staff levels to meet business and budgetary goals and objectives. Responsible for scheduling of direct reports. Directs training and indoctrination of workers to achieve efficiency and reduce downtime. Acquaint workers with company policies and procedures. Determines job priorities. Commits to producing superior quality products to eliminate customer complaints and achieve customer satisfaction through efficient operations. Reviews job orders to ensure a continuous supply of product required for operations. Reviews production, quality control, and other reports to plan and modify production activities. Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures to improve operations, minimize costs, and increase utilization of labor and materials. Maintains costing efficiency through efficient production operations and adequate product yields. Allocates resources in line with established cost structure. Compares production goals to actual production runs to measure efficiency. Completes required paperwork within established time frames. Oversees processing operations and collaborates with other departments to reduce waste. Manages and maintains office supplies at or below factory budget for the assigned department and oversees day-to-day supplies inventory. Ensures safety records are in line with goals. Verifies production activities comply with company policies and OSHA regulations. Leads the department by example to maintain run rates, yields, and safety records at or above expectations. Maintains an audit/tour-ready facility compliant with company policies, FDA/USDA regulations, and customer specifications. Interacts with other departments, customers, and government agencies. Communicates at all levels to meet production expectations. Monitors quality, safety, scheduling, personnel, and mechanical status. Collaborates with Human Resources, Safety, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Finance, Shipping, and other functional areas. Provides clear directives and resolves employee problems/conflicts. Manages employees: directs and supervises work activities, collaborates with HR to screen, interview, and hire candidates, administers disciplinary actions, and recommends performance improvements. Monitors performance and recommends compensation decisions per guidelines. Follows company values to foster positive morale and a cooperative work environment. Participates as a member of the team, contributes to development and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies, and coordinates work to ensure best practices. Attends team meetings and promotes cohesiveness on major issues, identifying and addressing areas lacking alignment. Operating System and Compliance

Familiar with company operating systems (quality, security, office environment, policies, LEAN) and understands the role in maintaining these systems and communicating improvement ideas. Performs other duties as necessary to support business objectives and recognizes this description may not cover all tasks required. Work Environment and Travel

Physical Activities: Enters and locates information on a computer; visually verifies information; communicates via telephone, in person, and/or email; may present to groups. Works in varying temperatures and manufacturing surroundings. May travel to different work locations by car or plane. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): As required by the visiting facility. Travel: Minimum local travel to other sites. Qualifications

Technical Experience: 2 years experience supervising or leading employees in manufacturing or related fields. Industry Experience: Food processing organization. Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field or 4 years experience in lieu of degree. Preferred Education: N/A Additional
