Role: Senior Engineering Manager
– You will lead multiple teams of (3-5) engineers, drive meaningful, transformative work in the K-12 education space, and shape Kiddom’s systems and processes to scale the business. You’ll work with modern technologies (Python, Golang, Node.js, JS/TypeScript, Kubernetes, AWS) and solve challenging technical problems that impact educators, administrators, and students. You will mentor, inspire, and drive engineering excellence across the organization as we adopt new technologies and AI capabilities. This role reports to the VP of Engineering, Tim Catlin. This role can be based in NYC or San Francisco and requires 2-3 days in office. Responsibilities
Lead multiple engineering teams (3-5 engineers per team) and drive technical strategy, architecture, and delivery. Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and AI researchers to inform architecture and product decisions. Champion shipping high-quality products on time and with a customer-centric mindset. Balance priorities, mentor teams, delegate effectively, and organize team operations in a fast-paced environment. Contribute to architecture and product discussions, and help the team evolve with new technologies and AI capabilities. Support cross-functional collaboration and growth through objective feedback and structured processes. Qualifications
10+ years of software engineering experience 5+ years of people management leading multiple teams of 3-5 engineers, with hands-on technical management Experience with: Golang, Python, Node.js, JS/TypeScript Expertise in running small teams using agile techniques; ability to mentor, delegate, and collaborate with cross-functional teams Strong prioritization, decision-making, and ability to meet immediate technical needs Ability to participate in architecture and product discussions with engineers, product managers, designers, and AI researchers Proven track record of shipping quality products on time Customer-centric mindset applied to building platform services and features Highly organized, thrives in fast-paced environments with structured team operations Ability to provide objective feedback for individual and team growth Growth mindset and eagerness to expand skills in a hyper-growth setting Adaptability, resiliency, and ability to thrive in ambiguity Bonus Points
