Torch Technologies is seeking a

Software Safety Engineer

to support the U.S. Army’s Future Long Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) program, a key modernization effort under PEO Aviation. In this role, you will ensure the safety and reliability of next-generation aviation systems by applying proven safety methodologies to mission-critical software. As a Software Safety Engineer your duties will include the following, but are not limited to: Design, develop and analyze complicated and difficult software programs for computer based systems. Apply MIL-STD-882E and Joint Software System Safety Engineering Handbook (JSSSEH) methodologies to identify and mitigate software hazards. Develop and refine software safety requirements aligned with FLRAA program objectives. Conduct safety analyses including PHA, SwSAR, FMEA, and FTA. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop safety cases for software-intensive systems. Maintain Hazard Tracking Logs (HTL) to ensure traceability and closure of issues. Prepare and deliver safety documentation for milestone reviews and certifications. Ensure compliance with AMCOM Regulation 385-17 and DO-178C (up to DAL A). Qualifications Bachelor's (Master's preferred) Degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience. 5 + years applicable software design engineering experience. Proven expertise in software safety engineering for large, complex systems. Proficiency with hazard analysis techniques and tools such as DOORS, LDRA, Scade, and VxWorks. Strong technical writing and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in high-pressure environments. Preferred Qualifications 8+ years of experience Experience supporting DoD aviation or weapons systems. Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and environments. Work Schedule and Travel:

M-F; 8-5, with 0-10% travel required. Relocation Assistance and Contract Contingency:
