Job Summary The overriding mission for the Engineering Response Team (ERT) is to protect the work week schedule and address emergent issues to minimize impact on the engineering core business. ERT Civil / Structural Engineer will provide maintenance with field support for simple troubleshooting and lead complex troubleshooting with maintenance and operations. The role supports maintenance and planning by resolving engineering technical issues within the work management process, including resolving work order holds assigned to engineering. Responsibilities include developing and reviewing rigging plans, assessing damaged or degraded structures, and developing repair plans. The role performs permanent and temporary configuration changes and operability determinations, supports outages, and participates in the Emergency Response Organization. The successful candidate will perform other assigned duties as directed by the Salem Emergent Response Team Branch Manager and balance work time to accomplish tasks. Job Responsibilities

Performing structural engineering design and analysis for PWR systems/structures/components to resolve complex technical issues. Preparation and review of plant configuration change packages and design calculations in accordance with plant procedures. Performing walkdowns to verify as-built conditions and confirm modification scope. Leading multi-discipline teams as the Lead Responsible Engineer for plant design changes. Supporting plant emergent issues and generation challenges. Providing outage engineering support which may require shift work/off hours. Participation in the Emergency Response Organization, with assigned duty as required. Performing other assigned duties as determined by the ERT Manager. Job Specific Qualifications

Required: BS Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. 3-5 years of experience in the nuclear or relevant industry performing structural/seismic design/analysis. Ability to inspect structures, systems, and components in the industrial areas of a nuclear power plant. Availability for shift work during plant outages and generation challenges. Knowledge of AISC & ACI design codes, NRC requirements for safety-related structures, and software analysis tools such as GT Strudl or equivalent. Must meet Nuclear requirements for unescorted plant access. A valid Real ID or an approved form of alternate documentation is required for this job. Must provide appropriate documentation to meet access requirements on the date of hire. Desired: Greater than seven years of experience in Nuclear Power Plant Engineering. Experience in pipe stress and pipe support analysis, design, and software analysis tools such as ME-101 or equivalent. Knowledge of ASME B31.1, ASME Section III, ASME Section IX, and NRC requirements for piping design. Professional engineering license. Some positions at PSEG require access to information covered by the Department of Energy regulation 10 CFR 810.
