Manufacturing Engineer – New Product Introduction
You will contribute to our business success in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment while solving technical issues in gas turbine combustion components. You may participate in daily Gemba meetings highlighting priorities for both standard production and new product development, and work closely on the shop floor to create robust manufacturing processes for upcoming releases.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Own
the development and introduction of new products by identifying, justifying, and managing projects that improve manufacturing capability, yields, efficiency, and capacity.
Develop, evaluate, and improve
manufacturing methods using knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling, programming, production equipment, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
Support and/or lead department capital programs (implementation) and improvement projects.
Provide technical support on manufacturing development processes, vendor support, cost models, and training.
Ensure manufacturing processes are clearly defined and communicated via technical instructions, MIs, and project briefings.
Mentor and train operators, technicians, and manufacturing engineers on fixture, tooling, and equipment use.
What You Bring
BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
7+ years manufacturing experience involving assembly, welding/fabrication, and machining; PM experience a plus.
Ability to interpret sophisticated drawings and specifications with solid GD&T understanding.
Proven leadership in a multi‑disciplinary team through assertiveness, dialogue, and coordination.
Understanding of root‑cause analysis, corrective/preventative actions, lean concepts, MRP systems, and quality control systems.
Practical understanding of SAP or equivalent MRP software and Siemens NX CAD software or equivalent.
Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer‑sponsored work authorization. Current SE employees with existing visa sponsorship may be eligible for visa transfer.
About the Team Through our Gas Services division, we enhance and innovate conventional and renewable power supply. We reduce carbon emissions of existing assets and develop technologies that transform power generation applications. Combustion Component Manufacturing manufactures transition ducts and combustor baskets that deliver hot gas to the first turbine stage of the gas turbine, working closely with design engineering on cutting‑edge technology evident in the newly released 9000HL gas turbine variants.
