Mechanical Engineer in Training (EIT)
Brand new opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer in Training (EIT) to gain hands‑on experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for a wide variety of project types!
We’re hiring a Mechanical EIT to support a wide range of commercial and multifamily project types including senior living, education, and civic projects. This role is ideal for a junior‑level mechanical engineer that is ready to learn from senior engineers, gain practical experience, and grow toward professional licensure (PE). This role focuses on the design and analysis of HVAC and plumbing systems for buildings.
Responsibilities
Assist in the design, layout, and specification of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for building projects.
Perform load calculations, equipment selection, duct and piping sizing, and energy modeling.
Prepare construction documents, including drawings, schedules, and technical specifications.
Coordinate with architects, structural, and electrical engineers to ensure integrated design solutions.
Support field investigations and site visits to verify conditions and assist with construction administration tasks.
Contribute to the preparation of reports, design narratives, and project documentation.
Maintain knowledge of local building codes, ASHRAE standards, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program.
EIT certification preferred, or eligibility and an interest in pursuing EIT/PE licensure.
2-7+ years of experience in HVAC or plumbing design for building systems.
Must reside in Minnesota to support local site visits and construction administration.
