Manufacturing Engineer
Purpose Of Position
The purpose of this position is to lead and direct all manufacturing engineering and requirements of company.
Responsibility And Authority
To be an expert in industrial production, to be in charge of researching and developing methods to design, build, and ship various items. This position determines the best way to use a piece of machinery and to maximize efficiency of the assembly line workers. This position will determine what new machinery or polices are needed at a company. This position is in charge of performing broad research on existing technology and techniques and help to determine the most suitable equipment to use and decide on how that equipment should be stationed on the factory floor. This position will continuously work on ways to improve worker safety and satisfaction. This position will write training manuals, develop worker classes, and conduct performance reviews.
Essential Functions Of The Position
Identify, organize, and lead teams to resolve production and product issues. Plans, directs, and coordinates all manufacturing processes. Identify and implement cost savings and supports safety initiatives Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. Design arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Assist in managing the spending to achieve financial objectives Assist in managing capital investments in equipment and infrastructure Leads the organization’s implementation of lean manufacturing principles. Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods using knowledge of product design, material and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly, methods and quality control standards. Analyzes and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and layout Create tooling, fixtures and jigs to support manufacturing throughput.
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS (Skills & Abilities)
Well prepared, organized & detail-oriented Good communication skills Ability to gather and analyze data to improve processes and machine operations Have a deep understanding of math, physics, and computer skills Goal oriented, results driven Flexible in organizing work in a changing priority environment Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Tools And/Or Equipment Used
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing, databases and presentations), ERP systems, AutoCAD or DraftSight, and 3D parametric design software (SolidWorks) is a plus.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in engineering
Technical Training
OTHER:
Maintain the highest level of integrity and ethics in all dealings with internal and external customers.
Work Experience
3 plus years of manufacturing experience preferred. Seniority level
