The Role
As a Heavy Civil Project Engineer at Willmeng, you will drive project success from inception to completion. You will coordinate technical activities, support field operations, and work with the Project Manager to plan, schedule, and execute project tasks. You will help ensure quality and safety standards, facilitate clear communication across disciplines, and keep the team aligned and progressing. You may coordinate with clients and internal teams, representing Willmeng’s commitment to excellence, collaboration, and operational integrity on every project.
What you will accomplish
Review submittals and shop drawings to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
Manage project documentation, RFIs, and schedule updates for project controls.
Track quantities, perform takeoffs, and verify installed work for accuracy.
Support daily coordination and communication with Willmeng crews and subcontractors.
Participate in owner, subcontractor, and internal team meetings to drive alignment.
Monitor and enforce quality assurance and quality control on all work activities.
Proactively identify and resolve issues, supporting risk management and problem-solving.
Organize and prioritize tasks to keep the project on schedule and within budget.
Communicate clearly and consistently, upholding Willmeng’s standards of professionalism and teamwork.
What we would like you to have
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred; 0–3 years’ experience in heavy civil construction or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Solid understanding of civil construction methods, industry standards, and government regulations.
Proficient with P6 scheduling, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, On Center OST, and MS Project.
Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
