US Farathane . Summary:

The Quality Engineer will develop and maintain quality systems according to standards and assist customers with any issues. Essential Functions:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Ongoing testing of parts (Functional, Dimensional, Physical properties, etc.) Create, update and maintain Quality Documentation, Customer Contact Reports, Customer Sort Reports, Information Relating to Concerns, Procedures, etc. Serve as the focal point of contact for internal and external customers. Participate in / Initiate cross functional teams in the pursuit of effective problem solving and mistake proofing quality problems. Travel and provide support to customers to resolve problems. Participate and improve in product development meetings to review engineering changes, manufacturing methods, planning and process specifications related with product quality. Coordinate with customers regarding quality performance trends and corrective actions. Communicate production and quality issues with employees and supervision when necessary. Lead 8D corrective action meetings. APQP: Responsible for development and support of all APQP Documentation required for PPAP, PSO, etc. Manage ECNs after SOP or programs in Production Phase. Prepare and submit APQP documentation. Support and collaborate with Materials and Production departments for Run@Rates planning. Develop visual standards and system criteria for manufacturing operations during new launches and serial production. Perform monthly Control Plan & PFMEA Audits. Plant Activities - Internal: Follow all internal and OSHA required safety procedures. Adhere to all company policies and procedures. Perform other duties as requested by the Quality Manager and Corporate Quality. Prepare reports by collecting, summarizing, analyzing data, and making recommendations for improvement. Conduct training sessions on quality control activities. Lead processing of non-conforming material and participate in failure analysis and corrective actions. Participate in Internal and External IATF Audits and customer audits. Maintain layered process audit system. Create cell layouts and work instructions for new parts. Participate in customer quality audits (IATF, BIQS, etc.). Provide statistical support including DOE and process capability studies. Set up SPC parameters and instruct inspectors on techniques. Develop and maintain quality systems for assigned projects. Lead or participate in SPC implementation and discipline. Develop process flow, control plans, and assist with FMEAs. Create quality instruction sheets and participate in AQP, 8D, and Continuous Improvement teams. Prepare PPAP packages for customer submission. Coordinate gage R&R studies for new programs. Guide quality personnel in using quality methods. Coordinate and perform capability studies. Develop customer sample submission packages. Maintain direct contact with customer base for quality issues. Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager. Report unsafe conditions and continue training as required. Understand customer-specific requirements. Ensure safe, efficient, and quality-focused operations. Follow environmental responsibilities and cooperate with action team directives. Lead monthly APQP meetings bridging plant and corporate teams. Qualifications: Technical Degree or equivalent experience. Computer literate. ISO9001, IATF16949, PPAP, APQP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, QOS, 8D Problem Solving experience. Knowledge of quality systems, inspection techniques, and measurement instruments. Capable of performing Gage R&R and capability studies. Automotive experience required. Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Quality Engineer in the automotive industry. Physical Requirements: Frequent walking and sitting; occasional standing, handling, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing. Must occasionally lift/move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close and color vision. Responsible for part inspection and labeling.
