Works closely with design originators preparing drawings of unusual, complex or original design. Prepares drawings requiring a high degree of precision. Performs unusually difficult assignments requiring initiative, resourcefulness, and drafting expertise. Ensures drawings resolve anticipated manufacturing, assembly, installation and operation issues. Exercising independent judgment in selecting and interpreting data based on design intent. Provides advice, guidance, and instruction to drafters. May serve as primary point of contact for complex drafting projects. Ability to prepare a complete drawing package without supervision. Calculates Weight and Moments changes due to drawing; assesses electrical and thermal loads and selects appropriate breakers, cables, and components as required. Selects proper material for structural members and assists engineers with stress/electrical/mechanical calculations. Revises drawings to reflect As-Installed Conditions. Researches existing conditions and utilizes web-based resources as needed. What You Must Have

5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in related field; 3 years with a Master's; or 0 years with a PhD/JD; 4 years of additional equivalent experience may substitute for a BA/BS. Recent graduate with a Bachelor's of Science in Engineering or graduating senior in good academic standing; ABET-accredited program required prior to starting employment. Ability to lead site visits to vessels and shore sites to gather technical data for drawing development. Proficiency with CAD tools and standard drafting practices; knowledge of drafting and design standards. Proficiency with at least one electrical CAD software package (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar). Strong understanding of electrical and electronic components, circuits, and systems; knowledge of industry standards for electrical drawings. Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and teamwork; ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. Bonus Points For Having

Model Space/Paper Space techniques knowledge. Understanding of Weight Group assignments for Ships Systems and related documentation. Physical Requirements

Office, industrial or shipboard environment. Able to climb ladders, tolerate confined spaces and extreme temperature variances during site surveys. Lifting and moving of materials within one-person lift limits. Must be able to perform site surveys and carry a laptop.
