Participate in the design, development, test, and integration of propulsion engines and associated systems such as fuel, oil, cooling, and pneumatic for remotely piloted aircraft. Conceptualize and articulate innovative solutions to highly technical and complex engineering problems, including strategic objectives and timing. Provide leadership, direction, and guidance for research into the solution of engineering problems. Provide field service support by acting as a subject matter expert for propulsion systems and components on the aircraft. Mentor professional and support staff in technical and professional growth. Interact with senior level internal and external personnel on technical matters requiring coordination between organizations. Prepare and present design reviews and other technical materials for executive management. Observe all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. Able to occasionally work off-hours to support field operations. Qualifications

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or PhD in engineering or related technical discipline from an accredited institution with progressive experience: six or more years with a bachelor’s, four or more years with a master’s, or two or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education. Thorough understanding of engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory; broad application and evolving knowledge in related technical specialties. Ability to develop and communicate new concepts; apply them in an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; determine approaches at task or project level. Strong communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Able to perform complex tasks in one or more engineering areas; capable of leading a team on single component projects; able to work extended hours as required. Ability to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance is required. Direct experience with aircraft propulsion systems and related fluid conveyance systems (desired). Working knowledge of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, aircraft utility functions, and propulsion systems. Understanding of military standards, specs, and configuration control. Experience with FAR, EASA, or other airworthiness certification. Working knowledge of CAD modeling and drafting. Familiarity with GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and tolerance stack-up methodology.
