Seeking a talented early career systems engineer with expertise in millimeter wave signals to join our team. The RF Systems Engineer will design, develop, and optimize RF systems operating in the millimeter wave frequency range (30 GHz to 300 GHz). This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance wireless communication systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to think creatively and to operate within a flexible, fast-paced program dedicated to advancing the state of the art in RF Holographic Beamforming devices. This position reports to the CTO and is onsite with some hybrid opportunities. Key Responsibilities System Design and Development: Design and simulate RF systems for millimeter wave applications, including antennas, transceivers, and amplifiers. Signal Analysis: Analyze and optimize signal integrity, propagation, and performance in millimeter wave frequency bands. Testing and Validation: Develop test plans, conduct RF measurements in lab/field environments, and validate system performance using tools such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and signal generators. Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to signal interference, attenuation, and other millimeter wave-specific challenges. Documentation and Reporting: Document design processes, test results, and system performance metrics to support project deliverables. Collaboration: Work closely with hardware, software, and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and performance optimization. Stay Current: Keep abreast of advancements in millimeter wave technology and industry trends to inform design decisions. Required Qualifications Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related field; Masters degree preferred. Experience: 3-5 years of experience in RF systems engineering, with at least 2 years focused on millimeter wave systems. Proficiency in RF simulation tools (e.g., ADS, HFSS, or CST). Hands-on experience with millimeter wave components and systems (e.g., waveguides, MMICs, phased arrays). Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., 3GPP, IEEE) for wireless communication systems. Experience with RF and communications test equipment (e.g., vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signaling testers, Accuver software). Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a team environment. Bonus Qualifications Experience with 5G NR, WiFi, or satellite communications. Knowledge of PCB design for high-frequency applications. Familiarity with thermal and power management in high-frequency systems. Familiarity with the applications of control theory (algorithm design) in RF systems. Seniority level
