ITW Commercial Construction North America is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer. This role supports all facets of quality engineering and supplier development. The person will be involved in the CBI (Customer Back Innovation) process, inspecting, testing, and auditing regular production as well as products related to field application difficulties. Responsibilities include investigating, analyzing, and resolving quality problems, identifying trends, conducting audits, and leading continuous improvement projects with manufacturing teams and supply base. The position reports to the North America Quality Manager. Successful candidates will interface with plant management to ensure quality improvement activities align with operational objectives, develop and maintain a supplier quality program, and coordinate improvement activities across teams. The role involves resolving product quality concerns, supporting continuous improvement activities based on CBI, and representing hands-on activities such as testing, inspection, and audits, which will comprise 30-50% of the workload. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Participate fully in the CBI process, inspecting/testing, and auditing production and field-related products. Perform product and process quality audits to ensure conformance to specifications, standards, and policies. Conduct trend analysis and process capability studies using test data and measurement systems. Supervise calibration systems and design new fixtures and gauges for inspection. Engage in customer complaints, non-conformance, and corrective/preventive actions, including root cause analysis. Oversee raw material and heat treatment testing/inspection. Create and update quality plans, inspection instructions, and SOPs for processes and products. Participate in customer meetings to build partnerships through effective communication. Provide production support regarding product quality, gauging, and data interpretation. Perform hands-on activities such as testing, inspection, and audits. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent; minimum 3 years experience in high-volume manufacturing. Strong communication and organizational skills. Experience in generating quality reports from statistical data analysis. Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems. Ability to develop data acquisition routines; SPC software experience is a plus. Strong mathematical skills and proficiency in MS Office. Planning, organizing, and time management skills. Job Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Management, or related field; or 3-5 years leadership experience in manufacturing. Experience in high-volume manufacturing, OSHA, and quality systems like Six Sigma. Project management and leadership experience. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Work Environment: Primarily office-based with occasional exposure to manufacturing conditions, including fumes, airborne particles, and mechanical equipment. Personal protective equipment required in manufacturing areas. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities. Compensation: Pay Range: $80,000 - $100,000, dependent on experience.
