Job Overview

Santa Ynez Valley Construction Company is looking for a Construction Coordinator to support all facets of the residential construction process. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong interest in how homes are built-from planning through project closeout. You'll work closely with the Director of Construction to coordinate vendors, permits, materials, budgets, and schedules, helping ensure our projects are built efficiently and to the highest standards.

ey Responsibilities

Collaborate daily with the Director of Construction to support all aspects of construction operations Maintain trade partner contact lists and bidder databases Prepare bid packages, review proposals, assist in awarding contracts Draft and issue home start documents to trade partners Track and submit documents for city/county plan approvals and permitting Monitor and update project trackers, schedules, and production reports Assist with budget tracking and identify potential cost discrepancies ("busts") Support field staff and customer service tracking Review and document buyer options and change orders accurately Resolve vendor and trade partner invoice or PO discrepancies Maintain project files and records for each job and community Participate in project coordination meetings, record notes, and track follow-up items Identify process improvement opportunities and help implement solutions

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in a construction coordination, purchasing, or administrative role High school diploma or GED required Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Google Docs, gmail or Outlook Strong communication and problem-solving skills Familiarity with architectural plans and construction terminology is a plus Experience with SmartSheets or construction scheduling software is a plus Personal Attributes Highly adaptable and comfortable juggling multiple priorities Strong time management and follow-through Team-oriented and proactive communicator Tech-savvy with the ability to learn and use digital tools effectively A genuine interest in the construction process and desire to grow within the industry
