Power Bus Bar Assembly Development Engineer
in Austin, Texas. About the Role TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams develop innovative products from concept through production. Responsibilities include product development, qualification, supplier qualification, feasibility studies, testing, detailed design, prototype fabrication, and manufacturing ramp-up. The team provides comprehensive documentation such as Solid Models, 2D/3D drawings, specifications, and testing requirements. Key Responsibilities Evaluate and propose engineering solutions to customers. Create detailed 2D/3D designs, perform DFMEA, and tolerance analysis. Build prototypes and validate designs. Support operations, quality, and production teams for efficient and safe product launches. Document design drawings, engineering changes, and design history. Resolve product issues, manage ECN/PCN processes. Provide technical support to customers and internal teams, including testing and troubleshooting. Analyze competitive products and IP positions. Present technical papers at conferences. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master’s preferred. At least 8 years of experience in mechanical busbar or power distribution design. Proficient in 3D CAD (Space Claim preferred, Creo or equivalent). Knowledge of copper busbar manufacturing processes and safety standards (UL 60950-1 / IEC 62368-1). Experience with reliability testing and data analysis. Familiarity with data center power applications. Ability to work across different time zones and collaborate globally. Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
