Responsibilities
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience from a Seating Tier-1 company or automotive OEM. Hands-on experience in automotive seat systems and seat components, e.g., foam, trim, plastic. Experience from OEMs such as Adient, Lear, and Magna. Ability to design seat structures, including cushion frames, backframes, and mechanisms. Working knowledge of regulatory and certification requirements for seating systems. Maintain and develop Design Validation Plans (DVP) and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA). Good knowledge of seating system manufacturing processes, e.g., stamping, foaming, welding. Create seating layouts, BOMs, and manage product issues during development. Focus on design improvement approaches, including cost reduction and design optimization. Interpret CAE simulation results and incorporate recommendations into product design. Collaborate with seat part suppliers and support vehicle development milestones and prototype/production build events. Experience in creating 3D designs and 2D drawings, specifically using CATIA V6.
