Overview
JOIN OUR TEAM AS A PROJECT MANAGER - CIP (UTILITIES)! Pasco County Utilities Engineering & Contract Management is currently seeking a Project Manager. This role involves highly complex and specialized engineering/project management work. Duties include planning, coordinating, and reviewing the work of consulting engineers engaged in the administration and management of utility capital projects.
Responsibilities Manages, coordinates and provides technical review of engineering consultant's designs, plans, and specifications for construction projects. Assists with the development and updates to the budgetary estimates for individual utility Capital Improvement projects. Prepares project status reports and schedules as required. Prepares contract documents for construction projects. Manages plant construction contracts and field inspections. Provides technical assistance to citizen groups when requested. Manages project construction for capital and other projects as needed. Performs related work as required.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of project engineering.
Ability to plan and direct the work of planning engineers, contractors, technicians, and clerical personnel.
Ability to give technical and professional review to a wide variety and large volume of engineering plans and studies, and documents.
Ability to present clear and concise reports, orally and in writing.
Ability to read and interpret engineering reports and plans.
Ability to meet and work with the public, contractors, FDOT, the Southwest Florida Water Management District, FDEP, ACOE and consultants, make presentations, and reply to complaints.
Knowledge of permitting procedures for design and construction for utility projects.
Prepare agenda memos to the Board and negotiate scope of work with consultants.
Qualifications PHYSICAL SKILLS:
Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication.
Education, Training and Experience Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, project management or a related field and four (4) years of experience in the field of project management and engineering, including two (2) years as a project manager OR an Associate degree and six (6) years of experience in the field of project management and engineering, including four (4) years as a project manager. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and Microsoft Project. Supervisory experience preferred.
Licenses, Certifications or Registrations Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license. Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Florida preferred.
