Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to support our mechanical engineering team in sustaining our current product lines of heavy lifting equipment. This role involves hands-on design work, focusing on the mechanical design of heavy equipment serving the construction, warehouse, and utilities industries. Responsibilities
Support mechanical engineering to sustain current product lines of heavy equipment Perform mechanical design on heavy equipment servicing the construction, warehouse, and utilities industries Design work primarily within CREO Partner with cross-functional engineering and technician employees to troubleshoot issues during design and prototyping Manage key design projects from concept to completion Design heavy lifting equipment including telehandlers, scissor lifts, bucket lifts, and similar equipment Manage and split focus between 5-10 design projects at once based on urgency and customer needs Support sustaining engineering; no focus on new product development Conduct prototyping and testing of designs for current product lines Drive to the local testing facility for testing and prototyping functions not possible in the office Monitor operation of a current piece of equipment to recreate fail scenarios for product improvements Must Have
BSME, BSMET or related engineering degree 3D modeling experience for mechanical design (SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD; Creo is preferred) Basic project management experience including effective communication to cross-functional engineering disciplines 3+ years of mechanical engineering experience Proven hands-on mechanical aptitude Nice to Have
Experience designing within CREO Experience designing heavy equipment or machinery Experience with GD&T Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment.
