Job Summary The Civil Engineer ensures appropriate civil and structural designs are completed in support of power delivery projects at company substations, electrical vaults, Right of Way corridors, and other company locations. This position will be based out of our downtown Milwaukee location and will require occasional travel to field locations throughout the We Energies service territory. This position will be a member of a design team comprised of engineers, designers, and drafting technicians.

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for civil/structural engineering assignments on a variety of projects and assignments in support of electric delivery projects.

Responsible for analysis and recommendations of civil/structural design options.

Preparation of engineering designs, material and construction specifications, and cost estimates.

Review of internal and external construction plans and implementation of construction activities.

Properly applies codes, standards, and regulation to relevant tasks, designs, and projects.

Works with internal and/or contract drafters to develop construction drawings and record as-built drawings.

Works with drafters and technicians to update standard drawings and other engineering documentation.

Works closely with Substation Electrical Engineers to ensure correct and complete physical designs for substation projects.

Works closely with internal Environmental Department, Civil Construction Group, Project Teams, and design and construction contractors.

Collects field data and performs field inspections.

Reviews work of and gives design direction to Civil Technicians.

Facilitates tasks using engineering application software.

Supports other company departments as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.

Valid driver’s license and meet the company’s requirements for driving.

Candidates must be willing to travel to company locations (including field sites).

Preferred Qualifications

Structural engineering experience.

Professional Engineer (PE) License in Wisconsin

Reading and interpreting structural and site drawings experience.

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written are essential.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Experience with software packages such as AutoCAD, Microstation, Visual Analysis, and LPile.

End Date: 10/29/2025

Pay Range Minimum: $66,898.00

Pay Range Maximum: $152,615.06

This position is eligible for employee referral bonus.
