In the role of Transportation Construction Inspector A, you'll be responsible for:
Conducting and documenting observations of construction progress for civil projects such as roads, bridges, transit, rail, and environmental initiatives.
Monitoring, recording, and inspecting construction activities.
Coordinating field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, and in-place soil compaction testing.
Receiving general supervision from the Senior Inspector, who reviews work during progress.
Performing other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical school, associate, or bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management.
Some experience in construction inspection.
Relevant client-requested certifications.
Ability to interpret construction schedules.
Local candidates preferred.
This position is subject to a governmental background check and pre-employment drug testing.
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Strong written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Successful passing of drug-screening procedures prior to hiring, with ongoing random and cause testing.
