The Opportunity RS&H seeks a Water Resources/Drainage Engineering Associate I to join our Infrastructure Group. This position will be based out of our St. Charles, IL, office.

Job Summary This position is responsible for drainage design and production of plans and reports. Will support the development of stormwater management, stormwater collection and conveyance, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, water quality design, environmental permitting, and sustainability practices. Accepted and innovative water resources engineering practices are applied to clients including IDOT, other state transportation agencies, regional airports, and local agencies.

Essential Functions

Analyzes and interprets data, performs analyses of design, planning, impact studies, and cost analyses.

Designs complete projects, systems, or components, and prepares project documents, analysis, and reports.

Performs quality control reviews and ensures key milestones are achieved. Conducts field reviews and observations of ongoing construction projects.

Formulates and solves problems with timely and innovative solutions.

Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent experience.

0-2 years relevant experience.

Certification as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT).

Proficient in production software and construction document production.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with watershed delineation, hydrological parameters, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling tools (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, etc.).

Experience with drainage analysis and design using Geopak Drainage, ORD, Microstation, Civil 3D, ArcGIS.

Experience in plans, specifications, and estimates production.
