is looking for a
Mechanical Technician
who will perform a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive operations in the development of mechanical and electromechanical designs, tests, fabrications, modifications, assemblies, and components. Location:
Redondo Beach, CA 90278 (On-site) Position:
Mechanical Technician Pay Rate:
$25.38/hr - $31.18/hr on W2 (DOE) Duration:
6 months or longer Schedule:
1st Shift (9/80A) Responsibilities:
Perform tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive operations in mechanical and electromechanical development. Device fabrication and assembly of mechanical components and units, including testing under operational conditions. Assist engineers in developing mechanical and electromechanical designs, tests, and modifications. Perform precision cleaning and lubrication of hardware. Work from written instructions, assembly drawings, and diagrams. Assemble electronic and mechanical assemblies, perform soldering, harness routing, bonding, and electrical testing. Ensure work meets engineering drawing requirements, demonstrating this to Quality Assurance. Read and interpret engineering drawings. Work in clean room environments with gowning. Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship required. High School Diploma or G.E.D plus 2 years of mechanical or gimbal assembly experience. Experience with hand tools and mechanical equipment. Strong work ethic, positive attitude, willingness to learn. Ability to read, interpret, and execute mechanical assembly drawings, wire lists, BOMs, and test procedures. Willing to work weekends as needed. Ability to work with chemicals and solvents. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with hand tools, calibrated tools, torque wrenches, soldering irons, etc. Strong communication skills. Experience with electromechanical assembly, spacecraft hardware, and complex engineering drawings. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Experience installing heaters, thermistors, gears, motors, and performing bonding operations on spacecraft hardware.
