The candidate’s primary role will be a Civil Project Engineer, capable of working independently and as part of a team, collaborating with project clients and consultants. The role requires professionalism, client focus, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects. The position seeks experience in designing infrastructure and site development and planning across multiple civil engineering project types and sizes. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be resourceful and flexible, and be able to delegate and collaborate within cross‑functional teams. Responsibilities

Lead the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects (e.g., data collection, feasibility, zoning compliance, grading, stormwater management, utilities, roadways and parking, exterior lighting, erosion & sediment control, etc.). Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables from concept through construction. Coordinate with surveyors, architects, planners, jurisdictions of authority, and environmental consultants/agencies. Prepare construction documents (CDs, plans/details) in AutoCAD and prepare technical specifications. Assist clients with development permits and project compliance. Communicate design recommendations to clients, project team members, and bidders/contractors during presentations and meetings. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and regulatory or permitting agencies. Prepare, review, and coordinate construction documents, technical reports, and permit applications to satisfy project requirements. Work independently or lead a project team to design and detail civil engineering needs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality control/assurance standards. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and engineering standards for civil engineering and site planning. Participate in onsite observations and interaction with clients and contractors during design and construction phases. Represent the firm in meetings/hearings with clients, municipalities, and public agencies. Support business development through proposal writing and client presentations. Stay current with new design and analysis technologies, software, and construction standards through continuing education and research. Perform civil design calculations, analysis, and assessments following office documentation standards. Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field. Plan to take or have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam. Three (3) to seven (7) years of civil engineering experience. Familiarity with common civil analysis and design software (HydroCAD, SewerCAD, WaterCAD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, OpenFlows, InfoDrainage, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, etc.). Proficiency in AutoCAD. Licensed Professional Engineer is preferred but not required. This is an in‑office full‑time position. Preferred: Site planning and land‑use development; grading, utility, and drainage plans; stormwater management modeling and reports. Stormwater pollution prevention plans and erosion & sediment control plans. Pressure and gravity distribution systems (stormwater, water, wastewater); pump stations and pump curves. Exterior lighting and photometric plans; roadway and parking design; development permits and zoning compliance. Vehicle/truck maneuvering diagrams; field measurements and surveyor coordination. Familiarity with geotechnical reports, soil assessments, and related analyses; familiarity with property documents (easements, deeds, ROWs). Location

The expected base salary range for this role is

$85,000 – $115,000 USD

per year. Compensation is based on skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
