Overview

Howmet Aerospace has an immediate opening for an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer at our Engines Products - Tempcraft Operations. The site operates from two manufacturing locations: 3960 S. Marginal Rd., Cleveland, OH 44114 and 10147 Brecksville Rd, Brecksville, OH. This role is a key member of the EHS team with high visibility in operations and within the Howmet Engines Business Unit. Howmet Engines is a world-class producer of aero engine and industrial gas turbine components. In close cooperation with location leadership, this position will be accountable for driving environmental, health and safety efforts across the location. Significant interface with local management, business unit management and other internal and external stakeholders is required. Responsibilities

Responsible for managing programs, policies and practices related to Health, Safety and Environmental. Acts as the facility coordinator and point of contact for internal customers and external agencies for all EHS matters. Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety regulatory requirements and company standards. Support location EHS Manager in overall EHS process implementation and oversight. Demonstrate knowledge of EHS management systems and support the development and implementation of systems. Write procedures, administer requirements, and conduct recordkeeping. Participate in incident investigation teams as required to ensure prompt, thorough incident reviews and recommend corrective actions. Coordinate development of systems to track incidents and quarterly metrics per guidelines. Assist with site emergencies (spill response, guidance, and coordinating training). Provide oversight for the EHS internal Audit Self-Assessment Program. Provide direction and oversight for the respective EHS Single Point Accountability roles (SPA’S). Coordinate EHS training programs and provide training for employees as needed. Prepare and submit reports and other required submittals to company and local, state, and federal regulatory bodies. Lead and guide site teams on risk assessment and risk prediction to mitigate risk of task-based activities. Support location on continuous improvement projects to reduce EHS risks. Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution. Minimum 6 months of environmental, health (industrial hygiene) or safety experience. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Health or Occupational Health & Safety or Environmental. One or more years of experience in the field of Environmental, Health and Safety. Industrial manufacturing and environmental experience preferred. Knowledge of applicable Federal and State regulations related to health and safety. Knowledge of Health and Safety Programs (e.g., Powered Industrial Trucks, LOTO, Fall Protection). Demonstrated professionalism with a passion for change and relentless focus on execution. Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills; good human relations. Ability to make difficult decisions with sometimes incomplete data.
