Category Manager – Indirect Materials & Services
A leading infrastructure solutions company is seeking a
Category Manager
to join its dynamic Supply Chain team. This role is pivotal in managing high-impact
MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations)
and
CAPEX (Capital Expenditures)
categories, with an annual spend portfolio of approximately
$50‑$100M . The ideal candidate will bring strategic sourcing expertise, strong negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of indirect procurement to drive cost savings and supplier performance.
Base Pay Range $100,000.00/yr – $120,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute category strategies for MRO and CAPEX spend, aligning with business goals and operational needs.
Analyze spend data down to SKU level to identify cost reduction opportunities and track performance against targets.
Lead end‑to‑end sourcing processes including RFPs, supplier qualification, contract negotiation, and implementation.
Serve as the primary liaison for supplier relationships, conducting quarterly business reviews and managing performance metrics.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with stakeholders in engineering, finance, and operations to ensure alignment and execution of procurement strategies.
Identify supply chain risks and implement mitigation plans to ensure continuity and resilience.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
Minimum
5 years of procurement experience , with a strong focus on indirect categories such as MRO and CAPEX.
Proven track record in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and drive actionable insights.
Proficiency in ERP and procurement systems (e.g., SAP, JDE, Coupa).
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Willingness to travel domestically up to 20%.
Preferred Skills
MBA or professional certifications (CSCP, CPIM, CPSM).
Experience in infrastructure, construction, manufacturing, or chemical procurement.
Advanced Excel and data visualization capabilities.
Business acumen with the ability to connect procurement outcomes to financial impact.
