Overview Inventory Planner role at Sysco, hybrid schedule with in‑office Monday, Thursday, Friday and remote Tuesday, Wednesday.

Goal: Achieve inventory management targets for aligned suppliers, ensuring exemplary customer service, PO accuracy, minimal spoilage, and lowest possible Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).

Responsibilities

Take strategic action to maintain inventory levels while maximizing customer service levels.

Manage Inventory DSO, aged inventory, obsolete inventory, spoilage and shrink to achieve company goals.

Collaborate with local, market and corporate merchandising teams, suppliers, and other functional areas.

Demonstrate proficiency in Manhattan inventory planning tool Demand Planning Replenishment (DPR), driving team performance via DPR scorecards, dashboards and merchandising KPIs.

Work with logistics to maximize supply chain efficiencies and collaborate with Inbound Planning on receiving/warehousing programs.

Manage SKU count (min 2,300‑4,000 SKUs vendor direct, 3,500+ redistributed or 750 purchase‑order perishable lines weekly) and resolve replenishment issues.

Execute purchasing of new items and proper system setup timely.

Process Salesforce 360 requests including NISR and MSR in a timely manner.

Understand seasonal trends, commodity purchasing dynamics, and execute enterprise purchasing initiatives.

Confirm all POs for pricing and quantity; investigate and resolve late/missing POs; respond to Cora requests promptly.

Qualifications

High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

3+ years of inventory management or purchasing experience (equivalent education/experience acceptable; Bachelors: +1 year).

Experience in a retail, wholesale or distribution environment with 10,000+ SKUs preferable.

Proficient Excel skills; strong communication skills with stakeholders.

Ability to work cross‑functionally across the enterprise; superb attention to detail and follow‑up.

Proactive attitude, multi‑tasking in fast‑paced environment, adapt to change, execute standard replenishment processes and best practices.

Excellent tactical replenishment execution skills; solid organizational and planning skills; negotiate with suppliers to execute inventory depletion process.

Knowledgeable of product forecasting.
