High School Diploma (required). Must possess or obtain (within 90 days) a valid SC Commercial Driver’s License. Maintain accurate CDL records for all bus drivers Register new drivers for CDL state mandated classes District liaison to SCDE transportation training department Ensure all drivers take CDL test within 180 days of employment Maintain accurate logs of Department of Transportation physicals and other trainings as necessary Communicate with transportation and other district personnel in regards to safety Support and work cohesively with other SSD departments to carry out both project objectives and department and / or districtwide initiatives Assist with random CDL drug testing Schedule safety trainings and updates Assist drivers and schools with daily safety drill and bus evacuation procedures Complete all required state forms for new and terminated employees Assist with driving bus routes as needed Other duties as assigned Primary Tasks / Responsibilities

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to provide leadership to the safety and training section of the department Terms

Terms: 233 days a year. The Division of Personnel will establish salary and work year based upon the recommendation and approval by the Superintendent and approved by the Board of Trustees. In the event of any change in the District's organizational chart, reduction in force, or whenever it is deemed in the best interest of the District, the Superintendent may reassign the Employee. Further, the District reserves the right to make reassignments, upon notice to and consultation with the affected employee, consistent with S.C. Code Ann. 59-24-15, as amended.
