Georgia-Pacific has an immediate opening for an Electrical Technician at our San Leandro, CA facility. This position creates value for the facility by performing preventative and corrective maintenance leading to increased uptime and reliability, helping the facility to meet production and quality goals. The role focuses on troubleshooting and maintaining manufacturing equipment with a thorough understanding of safe work practices.
This position offers a competitive benefits package with a starting hourly rate of $49.71
2-2-3 schedule: Shifts will be 5am – 5pm or 5pm – 5am (2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off, etc.)

What You Will Do In Your Role
Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
Help meet or exceed production, waste and quality goals through a quality maintenance program
Install and repair mechanical drives, chains, sprockets, gears, belts, and couplings
Electrical troubleshooting during production as priority; mechanical issues may also be addressed
On Down Days, prioritize electrical work orders, with mechanical work orders also required
Perform maintenance checks and preventive maintenance in a safe and timely manner
Upload/download and research software and manuals to aid in tasks
Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, standing, and other physical activities for up to 12 hours/day in a loud environment
Maintain PPE and safety rules adherence
Willing to work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years electrical industrial manufacturing experience
Experience performing preventative maintenance and identifying predictive maintenance of equipment
What Will Put You Ahead
Electrical Certification or technical schooling or related certifications/degrees
Experience in the corrugated packaging industry
Experience in PLC – Allen Bradley/Siemens
Electrical schematics/symbols, electrical safe work practices, voltmeter troubleshooting, motors up to 480V 3-phase
Mechanical: fasteners, hydraulics/pneumatics, hoisting/rigging, lubrication, bearings/seals, drive systems, blueprints/drawings, precision measuring tools, welding/fabrication, pipefitting, pumps, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, conveyors
For this role, we anticipate paying $49.71 per hour.
