We differentiate in the market through a customer service focus, strategic product portfolio, world-class distribution infrastructure, a collaborative growth culture and a relentless focus on technology and innovation. We strive to be the apparel distributor of choice while fostering growth for customers, employees and suppliers through our core values of service, deep relationships, innovation, continuous improvement and accountability. About The Role
S&S Activewear is seeking a strategic and results-driven Senior Program Manager, Transportation to lead the execution and optimization of our middle and final mile delivery network domestically. This role will oversee multi-modal transportation across parcel, LTL, truckload, and cross-border shipments, manage carrier and third-party logistics provider relationships, drive cost efficiency, and ensure service excellence. As a key leader in our supply chain, you will collaborate cross-functionally to deliver scalable, compliant, and customer-focused logistics solutions that support our high-volume wholesale apparel distribution network. Schedule Monday–Friday, Full-Time, Exempt. Remote work is available for the right candidate. Travel up to 30% may be required depending on business needs. What You Will Do
Transportation Strategy and Execution
Lead end-to-end inbound and outbound transportation operations across all modes, including parcel, LTL, truckload and intermodal. Manage daily freight execution and exception resolution to ensure on-time, in-full delivery performance. Develop and maintain routing guides, mode strategies, and capacity plans aligned with seasonal demand and business priorities. Carrier and 3PL Management
Own relationships with freight carriers, parcel providers, and third-party logistics partners. Lead RFPs, contract negotiations, and quarterly business reviews to ensure competitive rates and high service levels. Resolve freight claims and lead root cause analysis and recovery efforts with carriers and third-party providers. Systems, Analytics, and Reporting
Oversee transportation systems roadmap, partnering with IT and Operations to implement and enhance TMS functionality and ERP integrations. Develop dashboards and reporting tools to track transportation KPIs including cost per unit, on-time delivery, exceptions, and carrier compliance. Collaborate with Finance to align freight spend reporting, GL coding, and monthly budget reconciliation. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Serve as the primary liaison between transportation and key stakeholders in Distribution, Customer Service, Commercial and Finance teams. Provide logistics insights and performance updates to support strategic initiatives and operational planning. Lead cross-functional projects to optimize freight networks, facility alignment, and distribution footprint using data-driven insights. Partner with Finance and Procurement on business cases and savings pipelines; help shape AOP/LRP inputs for network, capacity, and budget. Collaborate with Tech/Analytics on data quality and visibility (TMS/WMS/visibility tools, EDI) and validate outcomes. Process Improvement and Compliance
Develop and enforce SOPs, training materials, and escalation protocols for internal teams and external partners. Identify and execute cost-saving opportunities through network optimization, automation, and process redesign. Project Discipline
Organize plans and milestones, manage dependencies, and communicate status clearly. Lead inbound, outbound & linehaul optimization workstreams—from scenario modeling to recommendations—balancing transit, reliability, and landed cost. Run the rhythm for inbound and outbound transportation: simple governance, cross-functional alignment. Pilot and scale new services (e.g., speed lanes, transload programs, pooling/consolidation) with well-documented playbooks. Document what works (playbooks, SOPs) and drive continuous improvement to reduce dwell, variability, and cost to serve. What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, or related field or equivalent experience. 10–12 years of experience in transportation or logistics management within high-volume distribution or wholesale environments. Strong knowledge of multi-modal transportation including TL, LTL, parcel, intermodal, and air freight. Proficient with transportation management systems (TMS), ERP, and other logistics technologies. Advanced proficiency in Excel, Tableau, Power BI, and transportation analytics. Strong leadership, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills. Certifications such as Lean Six Sigma, APICS, DOT, IATA, or IMDG are a plus. What Success Looks Like
Optimized freight network delivering measurable cost savings and improved service levels. High-performing carrier and 3PL partnerships with consistent on-time delivery and compliance.
