Quality Assurance Supervisor (Manufacturing Aerospace)
Consolidated Precision Products Corp (CPP) in City of Industry is currently looking for a Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our team. This full‑time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $96,000 to $129,000 and a comprehensive benefits package that includes a quarterly bonus program, medical/dental/vision/life insurance, 401(k) with employer match, paid vacation, sick time, and holidays.
Essential Job Functions / Duties
Review and refer Product Engineering Instructions (PEI) for each pattern prior to wax injection.
Supervise and lead the Quality Engineering and Quality Control teams.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management for engineers, inspectors, and technicians.
Perform progression reviews and annual performance evaluations.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives across inspection, engineering, and special processes, reducing scrap, improving compliance, and increasing efficiency.
Partner with Operations Supervisors to ensure process ownership remains with Quality while production executes daily tasks.
Oversee special processes including welding, heat treat, material testing, and non‑destructive testing (NDT) to ensure certification, compliance, and audit readiness.
Review and approve inspection planning, FAIRs, PPAP, capability studies, and quality documentation prepared by Quality Engineering.
Prioritize and oversee daily inspection activities to support production and customer delivery schedules.
Ensure customer specifications and quality requirements are consistently met throughout production.
Provide technical guidance on inspection methods, engineering evaluations, and quality tools (SPC, gage R&R, root cause analysis).
Monitor and analyze production, inspection, and quality engineering data to identify risks and opportunities.
Maintain compliance with CPP’s QMS procedures, AS9100, AS13100, NADCAP standards, and customer requirements.
Ensure employee training, qualifications, and certifications for Quality Engineers, Inspectors, and special process personnel are current and documented.
Support and prepare for customer, NADCAP, and internal audits, providing objective evidence and corrective action responses.
Assign and/or perform preventive maintenance on inspection equipment; elevate repair needs when required.
Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies to support department operations.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Business Administration, or related field strongly preferred.
Experience: Minimum 3+ years of aerospace quality assurance/quality engineering experience. Minimum 1+ year of supervisory or leadership experience in quality engineering or inspection. Experience with special process oversight (welding, heat treat, material testing and NDT) preferred.
Certifications/Licenses: None required; ASQ CQE, CQA, CWI, or NADCAP‑related certifications strongly preferred.
Skills & Abilities: Strong technical knowledge of AS9100, AS13100, NADCAP, and special processes. Knowledge of inspection planning, FAIRs, PPAP, MSA, SPC, and corrective action methodologies. Excellent communication skills with ability to interact across all organizational levels. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); ERP/MRP system experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams, resolve complex issues, and drive process ownership.
