JMT’s Fort Washington Construction Management team is seeking a qualified and experienced Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor for highway, bridge, and other infrastructure projects within the Southeastern Pennsylvania region. The successful candidate will supervise standard inspection procedures of construction activities on behalf of our clients (primarily PennDOT, PA Turnpike, and other local agencies) for structural quality, general safety, and conformance to plans, specifications, and codes.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance with legal requirements and safety regulations.
Coordinate and supervise project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance with plans, contract documents, specifications, and standards.
Oversee, schedule, and maintain subordinate inspection staff throughout all project phases.
Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades, and/or pavement to ensure compliance with plans and codes.
Make field notes and computations.
Work on behalf of the Client to draft project correspondence, facilitate project meetings, and resolve construction-related field issues.
Witness routine sampling and tests on concrete, soils, and other materials.
Gather and maintain project records (using PennDOT ECMS and other systems).
Interact with the general public, government agencies, contractors, sub-contractors, and other internal and external parties to respond to inquiries.

Active driver’s license and reliable motor vehicle
Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening.
Required Experience Ability to act in an Owner’s Agent / Responsible in Charge role. High school diploma or equivalent (may be substituted for experience). 4+ years of Transportation, highway, or bridge Construction Inspection Experience. Current client-requested certifications, including:
NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation Highway Construction. NECEPT-Bituminous Field Technician. PennDOT Concrete Field Technician (ACI Concrete Field Technician is prerequisite).
Preferred Experience Associates or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering. Supervisory experience in construction management or inspection projects.
