Overview
Buyer/Planner II We are seeking an experienced, highly organized Buyer/Planner to join our team. The Buyer/Planner is responsible for purchasing materials, components, and services to meet production and customer requirements. This role evaluates and analyzes supplier quotes, negotiates prices, maintains relationships with vendors, and ensures orders are delivered on time. Responsibilities
Source and recommend select suppliers that meet the company’s quality, price, and delivery requirements. Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers. Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, and delivery. Analyze and execute daily procurement requirements to meet customer demand and inventory requirements for both component and Finished Good. Review and analyze purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders when appropriate. Ensure timely delivery of items and follow up with vendors on late orders. Resolve invoice discrepancies with suppliers and accounting. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other required data. Prepare reports on purchase activity and supplier performance (Scorecard). Forecast customer demand and develop procurement strategies to ensure inventory levels are sufficient to meet customer demands. Manage purchase orders and report all lead time changes to team. Analyze commodity inventory levels and identify potential stock shortages or overstock situations. Communicate with sales team to ensure all planning forecasts are kept updated and all changes included in MRP. Work with suppliers to resolve any supply chain delays affecting lead time. Generate and analyze reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Create and maintain a valid capacity requirements plan. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or related field or 5+ years documented experience in purchasing, buying, and planning. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Strong knowledge of planning/purchasing principles and procedures. Maintains production, material, inventory and purchase plan to support master schedule. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP. Change Agent, demonstrated ability to drive process improvement. Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong organizational and time management skills.
