Overview
Hogan & Associates Construction has an immediate opening for a
PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT . Employment offers are contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment drug test and background check. Only qualified applicants will be considered. Responsibilities
Supervision/Personnel: Supervises and schedules craft employees and/or other on-site company personnel in person. Assumes responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the project. Maintains all employee time cards; ensures employee time is turned in and properly coded. Project Management: Ensures that all on-site personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc. Documents all violations, notifies project management, and recommends/implements corrective actions as required. Ensures everyone is working using the most current drawings. Inputs all correspondence into the drawings, RFI, architectural supplement instructions, etc. Ensures “job closeout” procedures are followed, including the punch list, and verifies its completion. Attends and represents the company in applicable meetings (owner-architect meetings, weekly subcontractor meetings, safety meetings). Coordinates with project team to create RFIs, track the status of answers, and distribute to subcontractors while keeping records accurate. Coordinates with project team to ensure shop drawings are compliant with contract documents and other trade work. Schedule Management: Establishes goals with the project team, coordinates deliveries, and ensures construction aligns with the schedule and milestone dates. Identifies delays and creates recovery plans; documents and communicates issues to the project team. Subcontractor Relations: Verifies subcontractor scope completion and supports development/adjustment of accurate subcontract agreements or purchase orders; reads contracts to understand subcontractors’ obligations. Job/Site Setup: Coordinates inspections with city officials, mobilizes and secures the site, implements safety measures including signage, oversees storm water and dust control plans, and secures occupancy certificates. Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in construction management and/or a minimum of 10 years of related experience on commercial construction projects. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Extensive knowledge of construction practices, procedures, and local, state, and federal building codes. Proficiency with a wide range of equipment and tools; skilled in construction, maintenance, and repair tasks. Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control. Effective communication with customers, vendors, and employees at all levels; ability to present information in one-on-one and small group settings. Strong leadership and team management abilities; highly organized with ability to prioritize and multitask. Ability to proactively plan for risks and activities to meet deadlines; problem-solving skills for diverse scenarios. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism; ability to read and understand work orders, safety rules, operating instructions, and contract documents. Benefits & Compensation
