Procurement/Planning Supervisor

The Production Planning and Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the coordination of production schedules and procurement activities on a daily basis to ensure timely availability of materials and efficient manufacturing operations across US Kitting sites. This role bridges the gap between supply chain management and production, ensuring that resources are aligned with operational goals and customer demands. Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate production planning and purchasing activities to ensure timely material availability, efficient workflows, and alignment with operational goals across multiple U.S. sites. Develop and maintain production schedules based on forecasts, inventory levels, and capacity, while proactively adjusting plans to meet changing customer demands. Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, sales, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless execution of production and procurement strategies. Manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and terms, and monitor performance to ensure quality, compliance, and reliability. Lead and mentor a team of planners and buyers, promoting accountability, professional growth, and continuous improvement. Drive process optimization and ensure accurate use of ERP/MRP systems to support planning, purchasing, and reporting functions. Support strategic initiatives focused on cost reduction, inventory optimization, risk mitigation, and supply chain resilience. Implement best practices in materials management, including advanced replenishment methods and inventory control techniques. Leverage data analytics and reporting tools to track performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to leadership and stakeholders. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Associate’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5 years of experience in production planning and purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP/MRP systems. (SAP a plus) APICS/CPIM Certification Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and negotiation abilities. Leadership experience with a focus on team development and cross-functional collaboration. Preferred Skills
Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. Familiarity with ISO standards and regulatory compliance. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Global supply chain experience and project management skills.
