Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician – Electrical & Mechanical is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial electrical and mechanical systems to minimize downtime and ensure safe, efficient operations. This role focuses on electrical expertise—including motors, drives, PLCs, and power distribution—while also handling mechanical systems such as hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyors. The technician performs preventive maintenance, supports equipment installations, and collaborates with production and engineering teams to resolve issues and improve reliability.
Job Duties:
Troubleshoot and repair a variety of electrical systems, including motors, drives, PLCs, sensors, and control panels. Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and gear systems. Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections on both electrical and mechanical equipment. Interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to troubleshoot and maintain equipment. Support the installation, startup, and commissioning of new machinery and systems. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability. Ensure all work complies with safety standards and electrical codes. Keep accurate maintenance records using a CMMS.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in electrical or industrial maintenance preferred. 5+ years of experience in a maintenance role, with a strong emphasis on electrical systems. Expertise in AC/DC motors, VFDs, and PLC troubleshooting (programming a plus). Solid understanding of mechanical systems such as belts, bearings, chains, lubrication, and gear assemblies. Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and manuals. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional on-call or overtime shifts.
