Overview
Utility Cleaner Lead
to support custodial operations at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling. This is a working lead position that coordinates daily custodial tasks and ensures service quality under the direction of the Project Manager/Site Lead. Responsible for hands-on cleaning and reporting in compliance with contractual obligations.
Base pay $3,486.00/yr - $3,486.00/yr
Salary: $34.86/hr. plus employer-paid health benefits and pension.
Responsibilities
Coordinate daily custodial assignments and report task completion to the Project Manager/Site Lead
Maintain awareness of supply inventory and communicate restocking needs
Collaborate with the Quality Manager to ensure tasks meet performance standards and inspection criteria
Support quality assurance by reporting cleanliness findings and assisting with corrective actions
Perform cleaning duties including:
Mopping tile and concrete floors; vacuuming carpeted areas
Sweeping, dusting, scrubbing, waxing, buffing, and stripping floors
Cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, breakrooms, kitchens, and drinking fountains
Emptying trash and maintaining exterior cleanliness
Dusting furniture, equipment, blinds, and fixtures
Cleaning entrances, exits, and exterior/interior glass surfaces
Maintaining floors
Report facility damage, vandalism, or maintenance needs to the Project Manager/Site Lead
Operate cleaning equipment such as electric buffers, vacuums, and wringers
Safely mix and use cleaning chemicals per instructions; ensure materials are stored properly
Assist with furniture movement and relocation as needed
Follow all safety protocols and site-specific regulations
Perform other position-related duties as assigned
Essential Skills
Familiarity with standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, and equipment
Understanding of the Hazardous Materials Information System (HMIS)
Ability to read and follow instructions, especially regarding chemical use
Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Top Secret Clearance required
SCI eligibility required
1 year custodial experience in the last three years (including floor care: stripping, waxing, buffing)
Valid Driver's License compliant with REAL ID Act or willing to obtain one
Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
Regular, dependable attendance
U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations
Preferred Qualifications
TS/SCI clearance
Experience in a lead or coordination role
Physical Requirements
Ability to carry, push, pull, and lift up to 40 pounds
Ability to bend, reach, grasp, and handle cleaning tools and equipment
