Summary Under the general direction of the Administrator Director, controls how projects are implemented to satisfy the client’s programmatic needs and to meet schedule and fiscal needs. Responsible for construction methodology, space measurements, contract management and day‑to‑day management of projects. Ensures compliance with applicable building codes and regulations for all projects, whether designed in‑house or by outside consulting firms.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain project budget and schedule, coordinating consultants and contracts.

Maintain a complex computerized asset management system and databases for campus planning and space utilization.

Coordinate space inventory data, analyze current space plans, and recommend integrations into master plans and strategic plans.

Conduct impact or space utilization studies for campus clients and prepare funding authorization, invoicing, and project financial controls.

Monitor budget, staff time, job costs, invoicing; develop and maintain contracts.

Coordinate contractor activities, ensuring compliance to specifications and completion timetables.

Review bid proposals and recommend selections to the Administrator Director.

Collaborate with external planning resources (architectural, engineering, planning consultants).

Organize meetings, prepare materials and presentations, and follow up on information and data reports.

Obtain approval from local, state, and federal agencies and participate in commissioning of projects.

Inspect projects, participate in acceptance testing, and review test reports before final payment.

Communicate with building owners, tenants, and customers to determine requirements and develop scope of work.

Develop RFPs for various disciplines and maintain technical skills in planning and health‑care industry trends.

Perform field measurements and quarterly audits for leased space, ensuring accuracy of square footage.

Perform other duties as required, including participation in councils and quality improvement teams.

Qualifications

Basic knowledge of construction, construction management, and architectural design acquired through a four‑year bachelor’s degree in architectural, electrical, mechanical engineering, or construction management.

Knowledge of BOMA standards, federal, state and local building and construction codes, local zoning requirements, and NFPA 101 guidelines.

Minimum of two years related experience in architectural/construction engineering design, cost estimating, project coordination, and specification writing, plus one year of practical CADD experience.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Archibus, Adobe Photoshop, Web‑editing, Microsoft Office, Windows products, and engineering management software.

Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of hospital personnel and outside contractors and consultants.
