As an Outside Sales Professional (also referred to as a Community Service Counselor), you will be the face of Catholic Cemeteries and Funeral Homes to the community. The Community Sales Counselor is primarily responsible for making pre-need cemetery sales for the outside cemetery office. The Community Sales Counselor is a commissioned person who makes presentations to individuals from company leads and personal contacts (i.e., telephone, door to door). The Community Sales Counselor, with a valid Arizona Insurance License, also has the opportunity to offer our funeral preneed insurance program to families.

Responsibilities

Service and Attitude: It is expected that each employee of DOPCCFH will provide a professional approach and decorum with customers and fellow staff members.

Develop leads and set appointments with prospective clients when appropriate.

Deliver documents or information to prospective customers when necessary.

Meet established product mix ratios while holding aggregate cancellation rate to established levels.

Develop a thorough understanding of preneed property, merchandise, services and pricing and demonstrate proficient knowledge of the Catholic Heritage plan presentation.

Follow up on letters sent to parishioners either by phone or at the door.

Follow up on leads provided by the home office.

Door knock in neighborhoods of parish being marketed and other assigned areas.

Follow up on referrals obtained from previous presentation.

Complete and submit weekly performance reports.

Attend all sales meetings as required.

Maintain sales activity necessary to satisfy minimum achievements levels.

Strictly adhere to DOPCCFH policies, representing DOPCCFH in an exemplary manner.

Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering DOPCCFH’s mission and culture.

Other Duties and Responsibilities Collaboration, confidentiality, and integrity are critical to success in this role. Effectively communicate any concerns or suggestions to the appropriate Team member. Completing other duties and tasks with utmost integrity and professionalism, as directed and not necessarily mentioned in this description, will be expected.

Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred or three years cemetery or funeral industry experience. Practicing Roman Catholic desired.

Ability and Skills

Must be able to perform basic computer skills, data input, and various applications.

Licensed for funeral insurance sales in the state of Arizona preferred.

Must have a valid Arizona driver’s license with an insurable driving record.

Ability to work under minimal supervision.

High attention to detail and accuracy; highly organized

Ability to effectively communicate with others and to work harmoniously with related personnel.

Ability to organize and prioritize work.

Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google mail.

Bilingual preferred.
