Overview
Position Title: Assistant Director of Student Engagement Department: Student Engagement Reports to: Director of Student Engagement Salary: $65,000 - $70,000 Location: In person on campus (not remote). Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Engagement, Programming and Management: program social and educational events through the Office of Student Engagement during the academic year; work with student leadership and club leaders on daily events and initiatives; collaborate with Student Government; lead planning of major school-wide events (Weeks of Welcome, Family Weekend, Manhattan Madness, Springfest, Senior events). Financials: maintain strong financial literacy; manage event registration and related software; budget and manage all student-related spending accounts, including processing invoices. Operational and Records: multi-task and maintain accurate records for data and assessment purposes to improve student retention; create a sense of shared purpose for new and returning students (commuter and resident). Event Schedule and Outreach: align and advocate for a thriving event schedule planned by a professional; occasional nights, weekends, and travel with student groups (e.g., MAAC Basketball Tournament, Student Leadership Retreat). Other duties and special projects as assigned. Assessment And Evaluation
Track attendance, finances, and Student Engagement statistics to improve events and inform department goals. Education And Experience
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. 2 years of student affairs experience or relevant background preferred. Maintain positive relationships with students, families, campus partners, and vendors. Strong administrative, planning, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of practices, strategies, and timelines for operating a successful student life program. Organized and able to manage multiple projects with deadlines; customer service-oriented with various stakeholders. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
