Overview
Unleash Your Inner Explorer as a Survey Crew Lead at Civil & Environmental Consultants (CEC). In our Pittsburgh, PA office, you will perform survey work related to topography, boundary, and construction staking. You will lead one-, two-, or three-man survey crews under the direction of Registered Professional Surveyors. This role involves field work with modern survey equipment and travel with overnight stays. You will work for commercial, institutional, solid waste, and energy clients. Responsibilities
Operate state-of-the-art survey equipment Navigate diverse terrains Take meticulous measurements that form the backbone of every project Record vital data and prepare detailed sketches Master surveying software applications, gathering, retrieving, and interpreting crucial data Perform essential survey computations that ensure accuracy and success Qualifications
8+ years of survey crew chief experience SIT is preferred, but not required Skilled in the use of GPS devices, survey and drafting technologies, data collectors, and robotic total stations Work requires independent judgment and initiative Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and practices of land surveying Knowledge of the principles, practices, and programs used in computer aided drafting Ability to operate motorized equipment Ability to work long hours outdoors under various field conditions and exposure to traffic, heat, cold, and other adverse conditions Valid driver's license Preferred Experience
Experience with Trimble & Topcon GPS and Trimble Total Stations; Trimble and Topcon Data collectors; and Trimble Access software Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Survey Engineering, Geomatic Engineering, or related field preferred Experience with ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Topographic and Utility Surveys, Abandoned Mine Land, Natural Gas Pipeline, and Transportation projects Experience with Pipeline As-Built Surveys including pipe tally reports and weld location Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D Software Compensation & Benefits
