Overview We are seeking an MRI Technologist, sometimes referred to as an MRI Tech. The MRI Technologist will operate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to capture detailed images of patients' internal organs, tissues, and structures. They play a critical role in the diagnostic process by producing high-quality images that help physicians diagnose and treat various medical conditions. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed.

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for their MRI scans by explaining the procedure, addressing concerns, and ensuring patient comfort. Screen patients for contraindications to MRI (e.g., metal implants or pacemakers).

Operate MRI scanners to acquire high-resolution images, position patients correctly on the scanning table, and select appropriate imaging parameters.

Adhere to strict safety protocols to protect patients and staff from hazards associated with MRI technology.

Monitor patients' vital signs during the MRI scan and adjust imaging parameters as needed to obtain the desired images. Perform multiple imaging sequences to capture different anatomical views or enhance tissue contrasts.

Administer contrast agents intravenously to enhance visualization of tissues or abnormalities. Monitor for adverse reactions and provide appropriate care if needed.

Perform routine quality assurance checks on MRI equipment to ensure optimal performance and image quality.

Qualifications Education and Work Experience

Licensure and fluoroscopy permit as required by State.

Appropriate national certifications in two modalities required (effective July 1, 2017).

Current BCLS (AHA).

Familiarity with State and Federal regulations.

One year of Acute Clinical Radiography preferred.

Graduate of a program accredited by JRCERT.

Proficient computer skills.
